Works on the Tunnel Vranduk

Given the works execution under the Federation Roads Modernization Programme as well as the upcoming tourist season and the traffic growth on all roads in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, PC Roads of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina urges all traffic participants to maximum patience and understanding, especially during the reconstruction of the tunnel Vranduk II and bridges Bosnia IV and Bosnia V.

Due to the technology of works of the Project of reconstruction of the tunnel Vranduk, TMP envisaged the use of alternative roads and traffic redirection to the regional road R445 Nemila - Banlozi - Zenica. However, the original redirection of traffic inside the tunnel has led to a significant slowdown. Furthermore, the passing of heavy good vehicles and the overall increase in traffic along the regional road that was not primarily designed for these needs resulted in significant road damages which slowed down the traffic even further.

PC Roads of the FBH has undertaken activities to remedy this alternative road, which should be completed at the beginning of July after which the passenger traffic will be completely redirected to this road, while the heavy good vehicles will alternately be released through the tunnel. This will reduce the waiting time and accelerate the traffic through the tunnel. According to the Work Plan, the basic works on the reconstruction of the tunnel Vranduk II should be completed by the middle of October. Afterward, the traffic will be released through the tunnel, and suspended only during the night hours due to the installation of tunnel equipment.

PC Roads of the FBH will make every effort to accelerate the reconstruction of the tunnel Vranduk II in order to normalize the situation as soon as possible.
