Contract for the continuation of the construction of the Mostar South Bypass
Contract for works on the Mostar South Bypass, section Miljkovići - Rodoč connection to the M17, sub-section the Novi tunnel (P305a) - Rodoč junction (P386), including the construction of a temporary access to the existing local road, was signed today in Mostar City Hall.
This infrastructure project is of a tremendous importance for the city of Mostar, the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the FBIH, which will facilitate traffic in the urban part of the city and ensure a safer and more efficient connection with the main road M17.
The total length of the section is 2.74 km, of which:
- Alignment 2.390 m (88% of the total length),
- Privorac tunnel (two tubes) length 180 m (6%),
- Rodoč viaduct (right side) length 168 m (6%).
The alignment includes the construction of a three-lane road with a slow lane, the construction of the Privorac tunnel in Cut & Cover technology, and the Rodoč viaduct as a continuous frame structure with six spans and seven supports. A temporary access to the Mostar South Bypass with a new roundabout is planned at the end of the section, which will enable functional connection with local roads and the Rodoč settlement.
Attended by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Andrijana Katić, the Mayor of Mostar Mario Kordić, the Acting Executive Director for Economic and Legal Affairs of JP Ceste FBIH Luka Raguž, and representatives of the Contractor and the Investor, the Contract was signed by the Acting Director of JP Ceste FBIH Ljubo Pravdić and a representative of the JV consisting of HP Investing d.o.o. Mostar, Putovi d.o.o. Grude and Euro-Asfalt d.o.o. Sarajevo. The Contract value is BAM 32.441.656,92, the funds of which are provided from the Budget of the Federation of BIH – Program of Expenditures "Capital transfers to public companies for the construction of motorways, expressways, main and other roads" (Decision of the Government of the Federation of BiH V No. 458/2025 of 27 March 2025).
"JP Ceste FBIH d.o.o. Sarajevo begins the implementation of another important phase of the Mostar South Bypass Project. With the implementation of this sub-section, the Mostar South Bypass will be fully completed, which will enable the relocation of heavy traffic that currently passes through the urban part of the city, which will significantly facilitate the existing city roads traffic, increase traffic safety and reduce air and noise pollution in populated areas. This bypass will ensure a faster and more efficient connection between western Herzegovina and the M17, and further on the connection to Corridor Vc. This will grant the city Mostar a modern transport infrastructure in line with European transport standards and local development needs.", said the Acting Director of JP Ceste FBIH Ljubo Pravdić.
