Completed rehabilitation of the bridge over the r. Ljubina on the section Olovo - Semizovac
JP Ceste FBiH has successfully implemented works on the rehabilitation of the bridge over the r. Ljubina, on the main road M18 Olovo - Semizovac, at the km 38+850. The works were completed on 15 December 2025, five days before the agreed deadline and within the planned budget.
Project implementation funds were provided by the Business Plan of JP C FBiH for the year 2025, and the total contract value amounted to BAM 560.000,00.
The bridge over the r. Ljubina was built in 1965 and has not been reconstructed until now. During the bridge inspection, significant structural damage was found, especially in the bearing zones, where the anti-corrosion protection was completely destroyed, and the movable bearings and steel elements of the structure were affected by pronounced corrosion. Furthermore, the bridge plate, fences and curbs were significantly outdated.
Due to the lack of an alternative road, the works were carried out in two phases, with traffic taking place alternately in one lane. As part of the rehabilitation, the bearings were replaced, the steel girders reinforced, the reinforced concrete road slab repaired and reinforced, carbon strips installed, new waterproofing and asphalt layers were made, new protective fences were installed, and anti-corrosion protection of the structure was carried out in accordance with the prescribed C4 category of high durability.
After the completion of all works, the bridge was opened for two-way traffic, which significantly improved driving conditions and the safety of road users over this part of the main road.
JP Ceste FBiH continues with the implementation of planned infrastructure projects with the aim of improving the safety, functionality and long-term sustainability of the road network in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
