Beginning of the Construction of part of 12th Transversal Road from Stupska Petlja to Sarajevo International Airport

The construction of 12th Transversal, from Stupska Petlja to Sarajevo International Airport, is one of the key infrastructure projects in the Sarajevo Canton that will significantly improve traffic flow and connectivity of the western part of the city with the airport complex. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the municipalities of Novi Grad, Novo Sarajevo and Ilidža, since the road crosses the borders of these municipalities.

After the issuance of Urban Permit for the part of the alignment from P61 to P80 on 27 December 2023 by the Novi Grad Municipality, the expropriation procedure was initiated, and furthermore successfully completed. Thereby, all conditions for issuing a construction permit and starting the implementation of this part of the project were met.

The value of the contracted works is BAM 6.418.831,43, and the contractor is a JV - Euro-Asfalt d.o.o. and Demus d.o.o. Sarajevo. Construction supervision will be carried out by RADIS d.o.o. Istočno Sarajevo, MIDES d.o.o. Banja Luka and PROJECT BIRO UTIBER d.o.o. Novi Sad. The value of the supervision contract is BAM 69.733,56. The deadline for works completion is nine months from the commencement date.

The signing was attended by the acting director of JP Ceste FBiH Ljubo Pravdić, the acting executive director for economic and legal affairs of JP Ceste FBiH Luka Raguž, the president of the Supervisory Board of JP Ceste FBiH Nermin Bojčić, the Minister of Transport of the Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta, the mayor of the Novi Grad Municipality Semir Efendić, the mayor of the Ilidža Municipality Nermin Muzur, and representatives of the contractor, supervision and the investor.

The works include the construction of a four-lane road 380 meters long with pedestrian paths on both sides and a central reserve, a two-lane roundabout, service roads towards the "Bingo" facility (l=380 m) and Aleja Bosna Srebrena (l=140 m), a bridge over the Dobrinja River with riverbed regulation in the bridge zone, and the relocation of utilities.

Urban permits have been obtained for the remaining sections of the 12th Transversal Road in the area of the Ilidža Municipality. The expropriation procedure is underway, after which the construction permit will be obtained and the work will continue over the next year.

As Director Pravdić pointed out: "JP Ceste FBiH continues with the implementation of infrastructure projects that contribute to better connectivity and development of the road network of the Sarajevo Canton and in all other parts of the FBiH".
